The Socialist dedicated an extensive article to Franklin Delano Roosevelt 's November electoral victory which opened a decisive period as president of the United States. The objective of this article is to study the highly critical socialist analysis of the North American political system through the elections and those of that specific year. The New Deal was not yet known despite the fact that some of its keys were presented in the electoral campaign itself. Firstly the socialist workers' newspaper confirmed what everyone had predicted that is the victory of the Democratic candidate against the president and candidate Herbert Hoover. Since the beginning of the th century two oligarchies “rotating great capitalism” disputed power The next reflection had to do with the removal of the Republican political personnel by a new Democrat as had been done in with the Republican victory. That was considered an assault on the Administration within the law.

The North American parties always according to this extremely acidic vision thus retaliated for the sacrifices made during the costly electoral campaign. According to the opinion article the Democrats' spending had been very high but it would soon CXB Directory be corrected when they took power. Politics in North America was a large-scale business for political parties described as capitalist and which would constitute a kind of turn that is the North American two-party system was interpreted from a Spanish historical key. And consequently the proletariat of that country could expect nothing from either Democrats or Republicans because both fought exclusively for their clients to enjoy power at least for four years. The government programs hardly differed and were opportunistic with the sole purpose of defeating the adversary.

The working class was always the loser. Since the beginning of the th century two oligarchies “rotating great capitalism” disputed power. Roosevelt was a banking tool like Hoover and in the end they would all be “starvation presidents.” In this sense we must remember the profound differences raised by the Democratic program in relation to the critical economic and social situation of the country as we will briefly comment later. Always according to the newspaper “Yankee psychology” was an arcana for Europeans. A people which was a paradigm of the materially grandiose had created and tolerated colossal caciquil devices giving lessons to the most developed Spanish cacique. The presidential elections were interpreted as an exercise in nepotism.
