People are interested in learning about this process mostly because we save money (for better or for worse) by doing the work ourselves. Antique Collection On any weekend you can find me at a thrift store or estate sale. I love finding unique items and hidden gems and giving them a second life. Why it works: I find this topic to be another icebreaker. If I talk to someone who also enjoys vintage shopping, we usually swap stories about the types of items we collect and where to find them.
Book Club A few years ago I started my own book club in Austin. We read nonfiction books about Phone Number List business, creativity, and entrepreneurship, such as Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic and Essentialism by Greg McKeown. Once a month, we meet at a local business to share what we learned from the book. Why it works: This hobby embodies my interest in continuing education and my desire to organize events (on a small scale) since I started the group and plan everything myself. Small Business I once wrote for a local magazine covering lifestyle topics such as where to shop and eat in town.
The best part is interviewing small business owners, learning about their, and sharing their stories. Why it works: This interest applies to my resume because I now write for companies whose audiences include small business owners. I can use my passion and knowledge of small businesses to enrich my writing. These interests are specific to my experience and relevant to the types of roles I would be interested in pursuing in the future. If these don't apply to you, consider adding some of the following additional interests to your resume. Sports As I mentioned, my fiancé loves sports like basketball and golf.
